Cerebral Palsy Clinic:
Cerebral palsy is a disorder of movement, muscle tone or posture that is caused by an insult to the developing brain, before, during or immediately after birth.
Cerebral palsy can cause impaired movement associated with exaggerated reflexes, hypotonia or rigidity of the limbs and trunk, abnormal posture, involuntary movements, or some combination of these. Children with cerebral palsy may have difficulty with swallowing, speaking & may have eye muscle imbalance. Visual impairment, epilepsy or hearing impairment may also be associated.
To ensure the best outcome, the child with cerebral palsy needs coordinated care by a team of doctors in various specialties. Our team includes pediatric neurologists, pediatric orthopedic surgeons, pediatric ophthalmologists, therapists and dietitian. Our team has experiences and the necessary expertise.
We do a comprehensive evaluation of these children by pediatric neurologist, orthopedician and ophthalmologist and also by therapist & dietician. Then we plan an Individualized Treatment Program (IEP) and follow it through.
We run our Cerebral Palsy Clinic every Friday between 10.00am to 1.00 pm. You can fix an appointment with the secretary on our regular contact number.
